The First Phase of the New Surgical Wing of the General Hospital of Athens "Evagelismos" included a new building that was built in the central area of the block of the existing hospital. For the creation of "free space" existing buildings were demolished after the corresponding relocation of the existing services. The rehabilitation of the elevations of the listed building "SYGROS" was also included in the overall project. The new wing disposes 15 operation rooms and central sterilization in five different levels, with an underground level, ground level-pilotis, two levels for main hospital use and a green roof level with open and enclosed spaces. Two bridges connect the new wing to the existing building "AHEPA-PATERA" and to the listed building "SYGROS". .
The project constitutes a donation of "NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE" to the Hellenic Republic (PG 31A/2011).
