This P.P.C. project is situated in Southeastern Crete, 45 km east of Ierapetra. It includes the execution of maritime and land infrastructure works, necessary for the future construction of PPC Power Station in Crete. More specifically, the project includes: -Construction of an oil terminal for the berthing and unloading of tankers up to 20000 DWT. The berth consists of a 270 m long gravity type quaywall, armoured with artificial concrete armour units (ACCROPODE) -Dredging of 250,000 m3 of the harbour maneuvering area -Coastal protection works along a 900 m long coastline utilizing combination of quarry rock and artificial concrete block armour units (ACCROPODE) -Land excavation works of 1,200,000 m3 rock material for the preparation of the area for future Power Station construction -River training and diversion works for the flood protection of the station area -Complete access road construction, 7 km long -Construction of a small fishing harbour, consisting of a 190 m long rubble mount breakwater and quays of total length 180 m, to be used by local fishermen.
